Dear Rose # 11 - How are you?

Rose is an amalgam of us - women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who are looking for somewhere they are seen, heard and listened to.

Dear Rose,

Do you know what makes me cry "I feel seen" tears? (And they are the good ones!)

It’s when someone says, “How are you?”

I don’t mean a casual “How’s it going?” or a standard check-in. I mean when someone really asks you that question. You can tell by a certain look or an inflection in their voice that they actually want to know.

It just does something to me.

I guess because I live alone, I don’t get asked a lot. But it’s happened twice in the past twenty-four hours, and it fills my heart. The Universe must want me to know I’m valued and seen.

Thank you Universe (and to the people who asked.)

Love, Em xx
