Dear Rose # 20 - The great HRT hunt

Rose is an amalgam of us - women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who are looking for somewhere they are seen, heard and listened to.

Dear Rose,

Today I heard the words women our age never want to hear: “Sorry, Ms. Polette, but your MHT/HRT patch is out of stock. We’re expecting more sometime later this month.”

Oh dear.

Although I mostly use patches for my bone health—which won’t be affected by a break of a week or so—I then did the next scariest thing I could do in this situation: I Googled what to expect.

Maybe some hot flushes. Probably some mood swings. Likely to experience sleep disturbances. Music to my ears.

So, tomorrow begins the Great Pharmacy Hunt for HRT. Hopefully, someone will have it. Wish me luck!

P.S. I’m pretty sure if men needed hormone patches, they’d never go out of stock. Or countries would go to war to boost supplies. Oh shit... seems like those mood swings are starting already! 😅
